This past week we started the discipleship ministry with four young women! Each have committed to footing four days a week to spend about four hours a day to study the Word of God and learn basic knitting and biblical based business principles and skills.
Only one of the girls, Maggie, professes to be a “born again” follower of Jesus Christ. The other girls have been raised in various religious denominations, but do not have a personal relationship with the Lord. Please join us in praying for each of these young ladies, that each of them will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and that their roots would grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from Him, so they will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth they are being taught. (ref. Col 2:7a)
Bible study each morning |
We used the first half of each day this past week becoming familiar with the structure of the Bible and central person of the Word of God, Jesus Christ. This week we will continue our study of the power and the need for the Word of God in our lives. We will also begin journaling and sharing with each other what the Lord speaks to each of us individually through a daily devotional reading of his Word.
The girls are picking up the knitting skills quickly. We used the second half of each day becoming familiar with the knitting machines and learning how to make a scarf. Our next challenge will be learning to knit school sweaters.
We are looking forward to sharing with you more about each of the young women in the coming weeks. Please pray for continued commitment of the young women to the discipleship ministry, for ears to hear and hearts that readily receive the Word of God. Please continue to pray for wisdom, discernment and unity for Susan and I as we disciple the young women together.
